Makena
Landing/Five Graves
|
| Snorkel |
| There is good snorkeling straight out from here. A little further
up is the Makena Landing Park with facilities and a place to launch
your kayak. The best snorkeling is on the far side of the cove near
the rocky points. |
| Scuba |
| There is intermediate diving and advanced level cave diving. Enter
at the small-protected cove at the end of the path. Head straight
out and a little right where you'll see the wall with multiple caves.
Do not enter the caves unless you have had training. There are White-Tipped
Reef Sharks and turtles along the wall. Further along is an outer
reef at about fifty feet. |
|
| Pay
attention as you pass the Makena Surf Condominiums so that you can
take the right onto Old Makena Road. A short ways up is a dirt parking
area next to the small graveyard. |
